Put your Major to Work in a Paid Co-Op Position
Interested in a co-op position? Co-ops typically involve full-time (35 - 40 hours per week) paid work experience with the same employer over at least one semester and adjacent summer (6 contiguous months). Work is closely related to the student’s major. Some students work at a co-op for three or even four terms over the course of their programs, which is typically a combination of some semesters and summers. Co-op students gain financial support along with significant professional experience prior to graduation. Employers often make full-time offers to students upon completion of a co-op. The best time to start a co-op is sophomore or junior year, although freshmen may be eligible for some co-ops. You can find out more information about co-ops here.

- Engineering & Land Surveying Scholarship

ACEC California will be awarding up to $65,000 in scholarships for qualified engineering and land surveying students throughout California. Highest upper division undergraduate award of $10,000 and highest graduate award of $10,000. Some applicants from Riverside/San Bernardino, Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Diego regions may be eligible for up to $50,000 in additional awards from local ACEC California Chapters based on their school location, residency, and hometown. In addition to the ACEC California State and Chapter Scholarships, you will also have a chance to apply for Need-Based and Diversity scholarships provided by the ACEC Research Institute. The top recipients of the ACEC California State Scholarship will be recommended by ACEC California in the ACEC National Scholarship Competition.Applications for the 24-25 academic year are due Friday, January 26, 2024.

Honoring the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen, Tuskegee NEXT seeks to transform the lives of under-represented youth through aviation education and career path opportunities, so such under-represented youth can transform their communities.The Tuskegee NEXT Summer Flight Program is a full-time, residential program in the Chicago area that runs from mid-June to mid-August.Application Deadline: December 31Tuskegee NEXT provides a clear path toward aviation careers through flight training, role models, life skills, and educational assistance.Building on Tuskegee Next’s Summer Aviation program, the Fellowship program is a two-week immersion experience to help them prepare for professional and personal opportunities. Participants will live in dormitories and attend daily programs including classroom training, simulators, flight training, and life skill courses. You will also have the opportunity to mentor Tuskegee NEXT Summer Aviation Program cadets. This opportunity may include a one-week externship in addition to the two-week immersion program.Application Deadline: December 31st

The Momentum Fund, Last Mile Education Fund, and Applied Materials are collaborating to move the semiconductor industry forward, accelerating access to opportunity and strengthening pathways for women engineers.This is an opportunity for women engineers pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering for a scholarship from Applied Materials. Undergraduate female students on an F-1 visa can also apply. They need to be within four semesters from graduation. .
